Training

2getthere
provides extensive training for the personnel involved in the operations and maintenance of the applications. Proper training is a first requirement for reliable operation of the system.

Each training program is customized for the specific application to ensure the operations and maintenance personnel are completely familiar with all aspects of the Automated People Mover System. Training can be repeated for either refreshment or new personnel.

Training subjects include vehicle operations (procedures, handling and alerts), small vehicle maintenance (finding and solving simple problems), supervisory control system operation (use of the interface program) and operating system maintenance. Depending on the specifics of an application, relevant additional subjects might be added to the training program.

2getthere distinguishes several training groups. Depending on the application there might be overlap between the groups.
  • Operators: Operators are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the system. The main purpose of the training is to familiarize the operators with the system, the vehicles, the supervisory system and the applicable procedures. The operation manuals are important tools during this training.
  • Technical Service Personnel ‘S’: The ‘small’ maintenance training provides insight into the technical functioning of the vehicle and knowledge of its components. ‘S’ Service personnel is capable of finding and solving simple problems or perform preventive maintenance. They are capable of (re)starting the vehicle, control it manually and perform tow-away procedures.
  • Technical Service Personnel ‘F’: The ‘full’ maintenance training ensures personnel are completely familiar with all aspects of the system. They can analyze and diagnose system behavior and are able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance. They have expertise on all (sub-) systems. The ‘F’ service personnel should be at the same level of expertise as 2getthere-employees.
  • System Administrator: The training provides detailed information of the structure and components of the supervisory control system. The trainees have knowledge of automation and the UNIX/Linux-operating system in particular. They maintain the operating system, secure system back-ups and replace files when required.
