The Advanced Transit Association (ATRA) is a diverse group of people brought together by the common realization that the transportation systems of the past can not meet the transportation needs of the future, or even the present. As non-profit corporation, ATRA’s purpose is to encourage the development and deployment of advanced transportation systems that will benefit society.
ATRA is an international association with membership open to anyone. ATRA does not endorse any particular company or system, rather strives to serve as an objective information resource to help decision makers navigate the often complex issues surrounding transportation choices particularly as it pertains to new technology.
ATRA Industry Group
The ATRA Industry Group (IG) is a separate legal entity working alongside and with ATRA to promote and provide objective information on fully-automated, market-ready, land-based transit systems capable of operating in a network. ATRA IG represents all advanced transit industry disciplines with a proven track record in advanced transit applications. Membership is therefore open to businesses and corporations experienced with applications of advanced transit.
Members of the ATRA Industry Group include Arup, Lea+Elliott, Berger Abam, PRT Consulting, LogistikCentrum, University of Bologna, ULTra Global PRT and Podaris in addition to 2getthere.
2getthere is a corporate member of ATRA and a founding member of the ATRA Industry Group, serving on the board and actively contributing to the activities. 2getthere believes that the knowledge on Automated Transit Networks, whether PRT or GRT, is still not widespread, requiring a pro-active approach providing information to customers (cities and developers), professionals (consultants and engineers) and the general public.
