In 2022 the Royal Commission for AlUla launched the autonomous pod vehicle service in the Old town of AlUla offering seamless transport for residents and visitors.
This pilot is currently still running in it’s 2nd phase and transporting passengers for free from the South entry car park to the Old town.
The chosen vehicle for the pilot is the GRT3, which can carry up to 22 passengers. The trip takes around 3 minutes to travel roughly 1km.
The pilot is operated by RATPDev and was supplied by 2Getthere Middle East, together with their joint venture partner in the Middle East, United Technical Services.
